DETROIT — Donations flooded into an online fundraising site to help a Detroit man — who walks 21 miles every day to work — buy a car.
Sunday about James Robertson, a 56-year-old who walks a majority of his 23-mile commute to work in Rochester Hills, Mich., five days a week.
His last car, a 1988 Honda Accord, stopped working about a decade ago, and Robertson catches the bus part of the way to his job and walks the rest.
Robertson makes $10.55 an hour, according to the story, but it’s not enough money for a car and insurance.

The story said Robertson walks the equivalent of Detroit to Los Angeles and back each year.
A and by Monday morning, more than $45,000 had been raised from donations from nearly 1,500 people. The goal was to raise $25,000.
