The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce 2016 Annual Dinner featured an all-new way to showcase and celebrate its members. This year, we emphasized the importance to ThinkLocal and SupportLocal through the event’s highlighted ShopLocal! Silent Auction!

1) Geneva Art, History & Culture Packagedonated by the Geneva Historical Society and Geneva Antique Co-Op Geneva Historical Society– Rose Hill Mansion Tickets & Amber Jewelry Set The Geneva Historical Society was founded in 1883 and since then has been dedicated to telling and preserving the stories of Geneva. Geneva History Museum, Rose Hill Mansion, and Johnston House are the three featured galleries of the Geneva Historical society, that exhibit a variety of materials of the Historical Society as well as those on loan from other private collectors. In September, the Geneva Historical Society hosted our monthly Business After Hours Networking Mixer in the 1829 Prouty-Chew House, which was a great success. Burrall & Son, Inc.: Fire Safety Basket & KitTom Burrall is the proud owner of C.S. Burrall & Son, Inc., which is the oldest family business and only insurance agency in downtown Geneva. The agency has been in business for 186 years, and has been passed down through 5 generations of Burralls, making it one of the few 5-generation businesses in New York State. In 1897 C.S. Burrall & Son insured every car that had insurance in Geneva. 26) Wine Time- PrejeanPrejean Winery Wine Gift Kit The idea for Prejean Winery was something of a dream for Jim Prejean after he and his wife moved from San Francisco to Connecticut for Jim’s job. They often recalled the drives around California wine country and, being on the East Coast, discovered the Finger Lakes wine industry in the late 1970’s. In 1978 the couple purchased 53 acres and planted the first 13 acres in 1979. In 1985 they took up permanent residence and built the winery. Prejean Winery officially opened in 1986, and sadly Jim passed away three years later, but not before he was able to see his dream realized. Elizabeth remains very much a part of the winery, and their son Tom and his wife Amy play a very large role in the success of the winery today. His vision and generosity created a theater that has been a cornerstone of cultural life in the Finger Lakes for over 100 years.
