Car insurance is one of the most important aspects to consider when you decide to purchase your first car or your dream car.
There are many important factors to consider when deciding which car insurance company to go with. These range from price to whether they provide breakdown cover with the deal and whether their customer service is reliable.
One aspect people never consider is which is the best website to visit to learn more about the best car insurance deals out there.
Most people just type into Google Best Car insurance company in the UK and Google will list some websites on the top 10 and people automatically assume these are the best websites to sign up with for Car insurance.
In this article I will explain to you from my experience which websites to visit for car insurance and I will base my analysis on two criteria:
Let me explain to you the way the car insurance industry works online.
You have certain companies such as Admiral, Churchill, Aviva, & Elephant who all claim to offer the best and cheapest car insurance. These companies solely try to advertise their own offers to you and all claim to be the best and cheapest car insurance company out there. Don’t be fooled by their statements.
Then you have websites such as Gocompare.com & confused.com who combine all the car insurance deals out there and offer you the best choice to choose from. These are the websites that you should visit before you decide on a car insurance deal.
In this article I will analyse gocompare.com confused.com & moneysupermarket.com. By the end of this article you will know which car insurance website offers you the best deals and is the easiest to navigate.
I will begin with GoCompare.com.

The gocompare car insurance website is pretty straight forward to navigate. On the homepage they have two clear buttons that offer the visitor a choice to Get Quotes or Retrieve Quotes. They also clearly define what their services are in 3 simple bullet points, one of which is that they compare car insurance deals from over 125 insurance brands.
On the top right there is a sign in button that makes it easy for visitors who are already signed up to gocompare to log in.
If you are a new visitor the sign up process is extremely simple just fill in a simple form including your name and your email address and your signed up.
Once you sign up they have a simple 5 step form process for you to fill in before they find the best deals for you. Step one is to fill in basic information about your car like the registration, when you bought the car and what you use it for. the remainder of the steps are self explanatory and once you complete all 5 steps you are provided with the best quotes.
I love the way they explain every field in the form in detail when you hover over it. This shows that they care that the visitor understands the field before they fill it in.
Once you complete the five step process their system finds you the best car insurance quote out there.

The confused.com car insurance website homepage is fantastic because it provides you with very large and clear action buttons.
it also incorporates social media allowing you to share your experience in Facebook or Twitter and visitors usually respond well to this because they like to share their experiences with their friends.
Confused.com is also very friendly towards visitors who have families. They always have deals such as get a free toy if you sign up to car insurance. This proves to be very appealing for family members who have young kids and is a fantastic marketing strategy.
Moving on to the usability factor they offer two straightforward buttons for those of you who would like to sign up for a quote or retrieve a quote. They claim that their sign up process takes 5 minutes and to be honest if you know the answers to the form questions it does indeed take 5 minutes.
They also have a sign in button on the top right for those of us who have already signed up.
Their homepage is more user friendly than that of gocompare because they offer a help section for those of us who would like to find out more about no claims bonus, etc.
I found their car insurance quote process to be more straight forward than that of gocompare.com. They have a very simple four step process before they display the best car isnurance prices. I particularly love the system they use to predict the market value of your car. You will be surprised how accurate their estimate is.
However, one slight negative i found is that if you want to find out more about a form field you have to click on the question mark button for more information about the field. I prefer the code that gocompare.com have implemented where the field is explained as soon as you hover on to of it.
To conclude, i recommend using websites such as gocomapre.com and confused.com to find the best car insurance deals out there.
From my experience confused.com offers you the best car insurance deal and the best usability from a website perspective. Their customer service is extremely friendly and their website is very easy to navigate.
