Besides just classes, Twistars hosts birthday parties, open gym, field trips, day care, and a competitive team.  The gym is owned and operated by Team USA coach John Geddert.  The gym is also where Olympic Gold medalist Jordyn Wieber once trained.  The gym is for boys and girls between 18 months and 18 years of age, and they are ranked No. 1 in the Nation for Women’s Competitive Gymnastics.

The gym also holds an annual event GymPalooza, which is a free family fun event.

DeWitt District Library

The DeWitt District Library provides informational, cultural, intellectual and recreational resource for the community. It was established in 1934 by Mrs. P. J. Carris. Now, it is governed by a seven-member appointed library board: three of them are appointed by DeWitt Township, three by the City of DeWitt and one by Watertown Township. Readers can use the library source by applying for a library card at the Reference Desk inside the library, which can also be used for accessing online account.

DeWitt Pharmacy stands to give its customers not only the pharmaceuticals they need, but also a selection of gift-related items. The pharmacy, part of Hometown Pharmacy Inc., offers prescription processing, over the counter medicine, and medical equipment. The pharmacy will move to its new location within the next year at 128 South Bridge St., just across from the current location. The new location is three times bigger than the current location. Customers can look forward to many more gift shop-type products at the new store.

Capital Region International Airport (Capital City Boulevard, Dewitt)

 

Built in 1928 and operated by the state up until the 1970’s, the Capital Region International Airport has been the economic staple and air hub of mid-Michigan.  Every year roughly half a million passengers come through the terminals. Passengers can board flights to Chicago, Las Vegas, and Orlando.  Currently Sun Country airline designates Lansing as a focus city. On average 50 million pounds of cargo comes through the Dewitt site of Capital Region Airport.  With easy parking and area hotels many love the ease of get-in and get-out.  In 2009 Forbes Magazine ranked Lansing one of the most affordable airports to fly out of.  If you are looking to learn how to fly look to Eastern Michigan Universities flight school situated within the airport grounds. Designated by the United States Department of Transportation as a port city in 2008 the Capital Region International Airport has decided to undertake a large development plan including new runways and a new terminal. There is bus service to the terminal provided by CATA with stops on Capital City Boulevard.
